FAQ
Question: How do I become a guest on Mothman in the Bible Belt?
Answer: Potential guests must be a resident or former resident of Appalachia, unless the subject matter has universal appeal (e.g. poverty, substance abuse, health and nutrition, haunted houses, climate change) and Buck personally invites you. Guests must be a musician, writer, actor, journalist, artist, and/or an active on-the-ground activist. Email Buck with a one to two-paragraph pitch. Buck's email is on the contact page. All guests are expected to share the podcast episode they are featured in on social media and press sections of their websites.
Question: May I use audio from one of your podcast episodes in a documentary, podcast, radio interview, TV interview, or YouTube video?
Answer: Only guests are permitted to use the audio. However, if you are a credible journalist interested in licensing podcast audio without mangling the content and taking the guest out of context, and slandering them, contact Buck and ask for permission.
Question: Who does your podcast music?
Answer: Rewind the Walkman bassist/producer Jamie Skeen.
Question: Can I advertise on Mothman in the Bible Belt?
Answer: In 2025, the podcast will allow advertising. However, fossil fuels, utilities, politicians (regardless of party), BigPharma, and health insurance companies will never have their ads broadcast on the podcast.
Question: Why the change in format (activism to entertainment)?
Answer: Expanding listenership. Social issues will still be a topic of discussion with guests from time to time.
Question: What sets Mothman in the Bible Belt apart from other West Virginia and Appalachian-based podcasts?
Answer: Buck has a background in communications and journalism, does thorough research, and asks his guests hard-hitting questions. Mothman in the Bible Belt is not a rambling, soft podcast.
